1st of May Chronicles

Better late than never, here are some photos taken this year on May Day, at the seaside. The weather was the coldest ever in 5 years, luckily I brought enough sweaters and tights to keep me warm. I also wore (a lot) my currently favourite shoes: simple white plimsolls from H&M, the easiest to match ever! Warning: you will find a different style in every outfit!

Mai bine mai târziu decât niciodată... o sa va arat câteva fotografii de la 1mai-ul petrecut la mare. Vremea a fost cea mai rece din ultimii 5 ani, insa din fericire, mi-am luat suficiente pulovere şi dresuri să-mi ţină cald. De asemenea, am purtat (ft des) perechea de incaltaminte preferata din ultima vreme: tenisi simpli albi de la H&M, sunt atat de usor de asortat la orice! Atenţie: fiecare tinuta prezinta un alt stil!

One year ago

A year ago I posted for the first time on my blog.. It's just a cute fact, no party, no giveaways, 'cause I only do it as a hobby.. it hasn't brought me any money.. at least not yet :) So, I just wanted to thank all my readers & followers and promise to post more often as soon as I take my freakin' final exam at Law School (boo-hoo :( that will be at the end of June). Until then, I will probably resume to a post a week, due to my lack of time to take photos and to the aprox 4500 pages that I have to know by heart in less than 4 months (and also work 5 days a week). But hey, I love challenges :))

Anyway, this was my look for an ordinary day at school, the outfit was really easy to create because I just used all the colours in the cardigan (this is a really easy way to do it) and  added my animal print beret, because I loved it's contrast with the stripes (mix and match patterns baby!)

I really want to thank Arno from BDC69 for featuring me on his blog, you can see the post here. He said such nice things about me and my blog. You should take a look, he only has photos of people wearing black riding boots (like the Decathlon ones I have) and it's such a great inspiration! Bisous, Arno!

Acum un an am postat pentru prima dată pe blog-ul meu .. Este doar o informatie, nu dau vreo petrecere si nici cadouri, pentru ca fac asta doar ca un hobby .. nu mi-a adus beneficii materiale.. cel putin nu încă:) Deci, am vrut doar să va mulţumesc voua, tuturor celor care citesc si urmaresc Leather&Lace si sa va promit postări mai dese, imediat ce termin cu afurisita asta de licenta-n  Drept (boo-hoo :( asta se va intampla la sfârşitul lui Iunie). Până atunci, o sa raman la o postare pe săptămână, din cauza lipsei de timp pentru a face fotografii şi din cauza celor aprox 4500 de pagini pe care tre' sa le mananc pe paine în mai puţin de 4 luni (şi, de asemenea, sa si muncesc 5 zile pe săptămână). Dar, hei, imi plac provocarile :))
 

In orice caz, am purtat tinuta de mai jos intr-o zi obisnuita de scoala, a fost foarte uşor de creat pentru că am folosit pur si simplu toate culorile din cardigan (aceasta este o regula ft simpla) şi am adăugat la final bereta mea animal print, pentru că mi-a placut tare mult contrastul pe care il facea cu dungile!

Vreau să-i mulţumesc lui Arno de la BDC69 pentru postarea lui despre mine pe blog-ul sau, o puteţi vedea aici. A spus niste chestii tare dragute despre mine! Trebuie să aruncati o privire si la el, are doar fotografii cu persoane care poartă cizme negre de călărie (cum sunt cele pe care le am si eu de la Decathlon) şi e o sursa buna de inspiratie! How to wear animal print

I know many of you thought you will never wear it because it's vulgar/ kitsch/ whore-related etc.

... And then one day you felt prey to temptation or went really crazy and bought an animal print scarf or a skinny belt ( you know .. 'cause less is more). That's because you saw it on someone else and you thought for yourself "hell yeah, I can wear it and still look decent". Well, I went berserk and bought not only accessories, but also a shirt . . next stop: animal print coat ( please God let it be a fur one !!)
You've seen this shirt before on my blog in a summerly outfit, now I'm gonna show you a winterly one, easy to wear and a bit more conservative: just add black and beige to match the colours of the print!

Ştiu că multe dintre voi aţi crezut că nu veţi purta niciodată acet imprimeu pentru că este vulgar / kitsch / aduce a prostituate etc
... Până când într-o zi ai căzut pradă ispitei sau pur şi simplu dintr-un gest nebunesc ai cumpărat o eşarfă sau o curea skinny (un accesoriu . . ceva mic . . pt că mai puţin înseamnă mai mult). Asta pentru ca l-ai văzut pe altcineva si te-ai gandit "ce naiba, pot să port şi eu aşa ceva şi totuşi să arăt decent!". Ei bine, eu am mers până la capăt şi am cumpărat nu numai accesorii, dar şi o cămaşă . . Următoarea oprire: o haină animal print (Doamne ajută să fie una de blană!!)
Aţi mai văzut cămaşa asta într-un alt outfit asta-vară, acum o să vă arăt o ţinută  de iarnă, uşor de purtat şi un pic mai conservatoare: doar adăugaţi negru şi bej pentru a se potrivi cu culorile imprimeului!

Zebras are cool!

I tried another kind of animal print today, as I'm getting used to seeing leopard everywhere. 

I really love the black&white combination because as simple as it is, you can always find a way to look different, by adding a strong colour like deep blue or even fuchsia. If you are more conservative you can always add that touch of red as I did in the previous post.

Because the heels and the cardi were already too much for one outfit (you can't really tell from the pictures, but the heels are snakeskin), I tempered it down with a grey top and black skirt & tights.

Seaside review #3

This is the last post from our 1st of May trip. I kinda exaggerated with the animal print (the shirt and the flats); I was actually going to wear heels, but when I tried them on, I realised my feet really hurt after the night before so these flats where the only option I had..

Ultimul post despre vacanta de 1 Mai. Am cam exagerat cu animal print-ul (camasa si balerinii); aveam de gand sa port tocuri, insa cand le-am probat, mi-am dat seama ca ma dureau picioarele dupa noaptea care trecuse, asadar balerinii erau singura posibilitate.

Seaside review #1

This is one of my outfits from our "1st of May" trip to Mamaia. I brought together all my favourite things: animal print, ruffles, lace, nudes, ripped jeans & studs; at the end I added a flower headband because I was feeling free-spirited, you know . . that hippie mood . .

The scarf and the skirt have different patterns, but what the hell, I like wearing stripes and dots at the same time . . this time you have to take a close look to see the actual difference, so I passed the test again :)

School day

I had to present a project at school today. Stayed up late to finish it and in the morning I didn’t have time to do my hair.. again :)) not even the camera wanted to see my face ..
